PGA Tour Golf II Overview
PGA Tour Golf II was a Sega Genesis and Game Gear exclusive, part of a strategy to support the platform with EA Sports titles. It expanded the series by introducing sixty professional golfers, including ten new additions, who could be competed against across seven courses and five tournaments.
Technical improvements included a new graphics engine and enhanced audio with digitized sounds. Gameplay systems were refined with more detailed statistics and a battery backup for saving progress. The simulation of play was deepened through variable ball lies, dynamic wind, and an improved automatic caddy.
Player control over shots was expanded with specialized options like chips, punches, and fringe putts. Ball physics were also made more nuanced through the implementation of a Draw and Fade meter.
