Fighting Masters Overview
Fighting Masters is a one-on-one fighting game for the Sega Genesis. Its premise involves a galactic crisis where a red sun's imminent supernova threatens twelve star systems. To decide which system will be saved, each sends a champion to a tournament organized by a powerful race called the Primaries.
The roster consists of twelve unique warriors, who vary in attributes like speed and attack strength. Player interaction is managed through three dedicated buttons for blocking, attacking, and jumping. Movement and jumping are separate actions; a directional input must be combined with the jump button. The combat system lacks combos, but the attack button can produce different moves, including a few special techniques.
Matches often revolve around grappling holds. Successfully entering a hold allows a fighter to inflict massive damage by slamming an opponent to the ground or hurling them into the arena wall. Available modes support single-player and two-player matches, along with an option to spectate a fight between computer-controlled opponents.
