Dragon's Eye Plus Shanghai III is a digital adaptation of the tile-matching board game Shanghai. It includes the core Shanghai game as well as the Dragon's Eye variant, both playable solo or with another person.
The software provides multiple tile sets and layouts to alter the visual presentation. While the original game offered four distinct tile themes, the Sega Genesis port is limited to a traditional mahjong set and a set with a medieval fantasy theme. Players have access to various options to assist play, such as a hint system.
