Sqoon Overview
Sqoon is a side scrolling shooter for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The setting involves an invasion from Neptune, whose inhabitants have flooded Earth to process humans into food. A pirate named Narikeen operates the pink submarine Sqoon and becomes the unlikely defender against this threat.
Players control the submarine, which is armed with forward firing missiles for combat and horizontally launched ice bombs for destroying underwater structures. These structures contain human prisoners who float free upon destruction and must be collected. The submarine has limited fuel, lasting approximately one minute per tank, making resource management challenging. Rescued humans are delivered to mobile islands that appear on the surface, which also serve as refueling points.
The game consists of eight levels, each located in a different sunken nation. The primary objectives are to defeat Neptunian forces and liberate humans from the aquatic factories.
