Columns Overview
Columns is a puzzle game where players arrange descending groups of colored blocks to clear them from the playfield. The core objective involves creating sequences of three or more matching colors, which can be aligned horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Scoring rewards longer sequences and specific alignments, with diagonal matches offering the highest points. A challenging strategic layer comes from setting up chain reactions, where one cleared sequence causes others to form as blocks fall into new positions.
An alternate mode shifts the focus from building sequences to clearing a specific block from a pre-arranged stack. The initial height of this stack determines the difficulty, making the task more challenging with more rows in place.
