Battle Master Overview
Battle Master is a medieval fantasy strategy game where players manage a small squad in combat. The experience is considered challenging, with frequent character death and environmental traps posing constant threats.
Before beginning, a player selects from one of four races: Human, Orc, Dwarf, or Elf. Each race possesses distinct advantages and drawbacks that influence strategy. Direct control of the squad leader is action-focused, utilizing separate buttons for melee and projectile attacks. A central menu provides commands for travel, rallying troops, adjusting formations, and using items. A "Parley" function within this menu allows for the purchase of goods or a Safe Pass to bypass a region, though selling items is not an option. The effectiveness of different character classes varies, with some being more dependent on their teammates for support.
