Street Fighter Alpha 2 is a sequel in the fighting game series. Its roster expands with several new combatants, including a kung-fu master named Gen and Rolento, a character previously seen in Final Fight. Another addition is Sakura, a schoolgirl whose fighting style closely mirrors that of the established warrior Ryu. Returning fighters like Dhalsim and Zangief are present with updated techniques.
The gameplay introduces a significant mechanical change by replacing chain-combos with a custom combo system. This system becomes accessible once a player attains a specific level, which can be as low as one. Executing these combos involves combinations of the six available buttons or various special attacks, such as projectile moves.
