Street Fighter Alpha 3 Overview
Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a fighting game for the Game Boy Advance that adapts the core mechanics of its arcade counterpart. It features a roster of more than thirty characters, including fighters from earlier entries in the series and some new additions specific to this release.
The gameplay offers three distinct combat systems, referred to as "isms," which are derived from different Street Fighter titles. These systems influence the available techniques and strategies. While the control scheme requires adaptation to the handheld's button layout, the game maintains a responsive and precise feel.
Several single-player modes are included. These involve progressing through a sequence of opponents, enduring consecutive fights with limited health, and defeating foes within a set time limit. For multiplayer, a direct link connection between two systems and game cartridges is required for two-player versus matches.
The presentation uses colorful and detailed stage backgrounds alongside fluid character animation. The experience is accompanied by music and sound effects designed to match the action. Unlockable content provides additional objectives for solo play.
