Hook Overview
Hook is a side scrolling action title for the NES based on the film of the same name. The player controls an adult Peter Pan, who is returned to Neverland by Tinker Bell after Captain Hook abducts his children.
Gameplay involves navigating eleven distinct environments, such as forests, towns, and icy areas. Progression requires the character to jump, climb, and swim while confronting enemies. The combat system is designed to be fair, as defeated foes surrender rather than perish, an approach intended for a younger audience.
Throughout the levels, players can find magical items like apples and pixie dust. These provide special abilities to assist in the core objective of battling through Hook's forces to rescue the captive children.
