Cobra Triangle is a single player boat action game where the player controls a craft through a series of timed stages. The core experience involves navigating varied aquatic environments while managing a health meter and utilizing a set of power ups. These enhancements, which include options for improved speed, firepower, and temporary invincibility, are central to progression.
Level objectives rotate among seven distinct types, creating a repeating cycle across twenty five total stages. Tasks range from straightforward races and target collection to more complex duties like defusing mines or rescuing swimmers from kidnappers. Boss encounters against large sea creatures punctuate the progression, followed by bonus target shooting opportunities.
The challenge escalates significantly in later stages, which introduce longer courses and more numerous hazards like icebergs, whirlpools, and enemy craft. While direct combat is a component, the primary focus remains on precise maneuvering around environmental obstacles and adversaries. The game's structure allows for some sequence variation through alternate path choices in certain racing levels.
