BreakThru is a side-scrolling shooter where the player controls a vehicle. The objective involves navigating through enemy territory to retrieve a stolen jet fighter.
Opposition comes in various forms, including soldiers, mines, and different types of vehicles and aircraft. Environmental hazards such as rocket attacks and falling rocks also present a challenging obstacle during the mission.
The journey to reclaim the aircraft spans five distinct environments: mountains, a bridge, plains, a city, and finally an airfield.
