Bad News Baseball Overview
Bad News Baseball is a Japanese baseball video game designed for a younger audience. Its fictional teams represent major league cities, though all player and team names are invented. The game is organized into two leagues, the Ultra and Super leagues, each containing twelve teams.
Gameplay options include a tournament for one player against the computer, where a chosen team faces every other team once. Multiplayer is available through a three-game series against another person. An all-star mode allows the creation of a 23-player roster by selecting from any players within one of the leagues. For those not wishing to play, a spectator mode is provided to watch a game.
The setting features whimsical elements, such as rabbits acting as umpires. Exaggerated events can occur, including home runs that leave the atmosphere and batters being knocked unconscious after making an out.
