The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening is a top-down adventure where the protagonist, Link, explores Koholint Island. His primary objective is to collect seven musical instruments from temples, which are necessary to awaken a being known as the Wind Fish.
Exploration involves searching for items and hidden treasures that unlock previously inaccessible areas. While the perspective is predominantly overhead, certain dungeon segments shift to a side-scrolling view, introducing platforming challenges.
