Stunt Race FX Overview
Stunt Race FX is a racing title for the SNES that utilizes an enhanced SuperFX Chip to render its vehicles and environments entirely with polygons. This technical foundation allowed for visual details like gradients and track obstacles that were not feasible in prior flat-shaded racing games on the platform.
Its structure includes a primary arcade-style mode where progression is gated by performance. Here, the player must reach checkpoints and gather items to manage vehicle condition and boost capability across multiple difficulty tiers, each containing its own set of courses. A separate time-attack mode focuses on navigating obstacle-filled layouts while collecting pick-ups.
Additional options provide a dedicated two-player versus experience on specific tracks and a practice area for unlocked courses. The overall structure presents a challenging progression through its ranked classes.
