Jurassic Park Part 2 : The Chaos Continues Overview
Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues on Game Boy is a side scrolling platformer featuring Dr. Alan Grant. He returns to the dinosaur island a year after the original film's events, navigating through four zones each containing two levels.
The primary objective involves gathering magnetic ID cards to unlock the exit in each stage. Grant is equipped with a gun and grenades that have unlimited ammunition, with the gun transforming into a harpoon during underwater sections. Health can be restored using found medkits, and extra lives are also scattered throughout the environments.
Opposition comes from numerous dinosaur species encountered on land, in the air, and underwater. The standard platforming is punctuated by specific boss encounters against creatures like a Triceratops and a T Rex, each demanding a distinct approach. Additional variety is provided by challenging auto scrolling stages where a T Rex pursues Grant from behind, leaving little room for navigational error. Collecting all ID cards in these chase sequences rewards an extra life, though they are optional to complete the level.
