Genjin for the Game Boy adapts the console title Bonk's Adventure while incorporating certain aspects from its sequel. The narrative now centers on the abduction of the Moon Princess by King Drool.
Gameplay retains the fundamental mechanics of the original. It introduces a new overworld map for the island setting and features a heads-up display. Six additional stages are included, expanding the content beyond the initial release.
