Xargon Overview
Xargon is a side-scrolling action platformer originally released for DOS. The player controls an archaeologist named Malvineous Havershim, who is transported to a hostile world after an incident at ancient ruins. His primary tool is a laser gun that can be aimed vertically and enhanced through various upgrades.
These enhancements, along with health and temporary invincibility, can be acquired in a shop using emeralds collected during gameplay. The narrative follows Malvineous, guided by a dream eagle named Silvertongue, as he seeks to confront the ruler Xargon.
The commercial release consisted of three episodes, which were later distributed as freeware in 2008. Initially, the first episode was shareware, with the full game also being sold in separate physical releases in the United States.
