Pickle Wars Overview
Pickle Wars is a platform game where the player controls a character named Dave. He must navigate large levels using actions such as jumping, shooting, and climbing.
The setting is the human colony of Arcadia, which faces an invasion by alien beings resembling giant dill pickles. Due to a long period of peace and disarmament, the colony is defenseless, leaving Dave as the sole defender armed initially with a Salad Shooter.
Progress involves locating ancient weapons to gain access to new areas and ultimately end the conflict. The game employs a dual parallax scrolling visual technique and was released in a trilogy of episodes. These episodes are titled Invasion of the Pickle People, which was shareware, followed by Escape from the Pickle Planet and The Search for the Doomsday Machine.
