Space Ace II: Borf’s Revenge Overview
Space Ace II: Borf's Revenge is a PC adaptation of a laserdisc arcade game based on a Don Bluth cartoon. The player follows the story of Dexter, a cadet who can become the powerful Space Ace to rescue Kimberly from the villain Borf.
Gameplay consists of watching short animated scenes and pressing specific keys at precise moments to avoid hazards. The correct inputs, which include directional keys and a fire button, keep the sequence playing, while mistakes trigger a death animation and cost one of three lives. This makes the experience challenging, as timing is critical within scenes that last only seconds.
Although the PC version is spread across many disks, it is a reduced port of the arcade original, with most scenes shortened. Progress can be saved at four points during the adventure.
