Ultrabots Overview
Ultrabots is a first-person simulation where the player controls robotic fighters in a strategic combat environment. The setting involves a future where humanity, having survived an initial alien robot attack, now uses reverse-engineered machines to defend against an expected second assault.
Gameplay revolves around managing three distinct robot models from a cockpit view, each with specialized functions. The primary Humanoid type offers balanced combat capabilities, while the slow Scorpion model handles grid expansion and has a powerful tail weapon. A fast but lightly armed Scout completes the set. A key strategic layer allows the player to instantly switch control between any active unit on the battlefield.
Operations are constrained by a power grid; robots function on limited battery power when moving beyond its range. Extending this grid is solely the task of the vulnerable Scorpion, making its protection a tactical priority. Damaged units can be recovered after a delay by returning them to the player's base. Victory in each engagement is achieved by locating and destroying the enemy's production base, which is a challenging objective given the need to manage multiple unit types and maintain the power infrastructure.
