Strike Aces is a flight simulator that places the player in the role of a pilot competing in an annual real world event, the Strategic Air Command Bombing and Navigation Competition. The setting is Ellsworth Air Force Base, where international aircrews participate in evaluated missions.
Gameplay involves selecting from six available aircraft to fly a series of sixteen missions against seven different enemy aircraft types. The objective is to earn points across monitored categories, with the highest scoring crew winning the Curtis E. LeMay trophy. Players can practice in a Free Flight mode or create custom missions outside the main competition structure.
