KGB Overview

Alt. Names: Conspiracy, Conspiracy: KGB

KGB is a point and click adventure that utilizes a pseudo first person perspective. Its interface and engine are directly derived from the earlier title Dune by the same developer, Cryo.

The narrative is set in August 1991, during the final days of the Soviet Union. The player assumes the role of KGB officer Maksim Rukov, who is transferred to the new Department P, a unit tasked with investigating corruption and espionage within the agency itself.

A notable feature allows players to rewind to the start of chapters to rectify errors, which can affect the game's pacing. An enhanced CD-ROM re-release added full motion video sequences featuring actor Donald Sutherland as Rukov's father, who provides guidance. This version was marketed under the title Conspiracy.
