Manhunter: New York Overview
Manhunter: New York is set in a future New York under alien occupation, where the human population is tracked and silenced. The player assumes the role of a human agent, a Manhunter, who uses Orb-provided technology to investigate crimes in this oppressive society.
Gameplay involves a cycle of receiving assignments and conducting investigations. A key tool is a computer system that maps civilian movements, allowing the player to trace interactions from a crime scene. This data directs the player to specific locations for first-person clue gathering.
The interface combines a point-and-click system for examining environments with occasional action sequences. These sequences require direct control of the Manhunter for tasks like evasion or combat, making the overall experience challenging. Each case concludes when the player successfully identifies a suspect to the alien authorities.
