Jetstrike Overview
Jetstrike is a 2D side-scrolling action game where the player operates as a lone agent within a covert task force. This unit was formed after global intelligence agencies were compromised by the SPUDD organization, which used bribery to neutralize official government responses. The objective is to thwart SPUDD's expansion by executing clandestine strikes against its infrastructure.
Gameplay involves acquiring aircraft from local air forces to complete specific mission objectives. A field support officer assigns these missions, which target supply lines, factories, and control centers. The player must avoid destruction while navigating terrain and enemy forces. Financial constraints are a factor, as excessive loss of borrowed aircraft will result in failure and removal from the operation.
The setting involves a global conspiracy where SPUDD seeks world domination, forcing the conflict underground. The player is supported by a mechanic and a commanding officer. A notable feature is the variety of vehicles available, with 32 aircraft and 6 helicopters usable across combat missions or in a separate Aerolympics mode. The structure presents a challenging balance between achieving goals and preserving resources.
