Elf Overview
Elf is a platform action game where the player controls Cornelius, an elf whose companion Elisa has been taken by a hostile entity named Necrilous. The primary objective involves navigating through various stages to achieve this rescue.
Gameplay revolves around using a projectile-firing ring against enemies while gathering resources like herbs and pets. These collected items serve as currency in shops, where they can be exchanged for enhancements including improved offensive capabilities, speed boosts, magical abilities, and special equipment such as a flying apparatus.
Interaction with non-player characters forms another component, as progressing through certain areas requires completing tasks for them, often by finding specific objects. The game tracks player decisions, particularly regarding the treatment of non-hostile characters, and uses this data to influence the final outcome and assign a behavioral rating.
A system of hearts and lives measures the protagonist's vitality, which can be restored or expanded. Progress can be recorded by saving the game after completing stages.
