Dusk of the Gods Overview
Dusk of the Gods is a role-playing game set against the prophesied end of the world in Norse mythology, Ragnarok. The player assumes the role of a fallen warrior chosen by Odin to attempt to alter this fate.
The core objective involves gathering six specific elements to create a chain capable of binding the monstrous wolf Fenris, a key ally to the giants. This quest is complicated by numerous conflicts among the gods themselves, which the champion must also resolve. These include retrieving Thor's lost hammer head, settling a fratricidal dispute, and fulfilling the romantic demands of deities like Frey and Freya, which involve powerful artifacts.
Gameplay emphasizes exploration across a large, continuous world that includes the lands of the living, the dead, and underwater realms, incorporating other legends like that of Beowulf. Interaction is driven largely by conversation with characters. The RPG system is streamlined, featuring only two primary attributes for the character and a straightforward point-and-click combat system. Magic is cast through the use of runes.
