The Great Battle II: Last Fighter Twin Overview
The Great Battle II: Last Fighter Twin is a cooperative side-scrolling beat'em up for one or two players. It functions as a sequel that shifts its series into this genre, while continuing to feature super deformed versions of characters from the Gundam, Ultraman, and Kamen Rider franchises, alongside an original creation.
The narrative premise involves four heroes from the SD Nation who must recover their lost powers. Their quest to restore peace sends them across eight distinct stages, such as a lunar base, an Egyptian pyramid, and a spaceship, each concluding with a boss encounter. Player performance in certain fights can determine alternate paths through the game.
Players select from a roster of four characters, including Ultraman Great, Gundam F91, Rider RX, and the original Fighter Roar, and may switch between them freely during play. Combat utilizes basic punches and kicks, combos, and a charged shot that consumes health. Defeated enemies sometimes drop energy capsules, which can be used to execute a screen-clearing special attack. In two-player mode, a unique combination technique is available, with effects ranging from a powerful strike to restorative healing.
Progress is saved via a password system provided after every two levels. The core objective driving the heroes is the collection of four legendary Gachapon capsules, said to grant a wish capable of saving their colony from a monster invasion.
