Tactics Ogre Overview
Tactics Ogre is a tactical role-playing game presented from a 3D isometric perspective. Its narrative unfolds in the land of Valeria, where a fragile peace maintained by the Bacrum kingdom collapses into conflict and the persecution of the Walstanian people. The player follows Denim Powell, a survivor seeking vengeance for this ethnic cleansing.
Gameplay revolves around managing a custom army through numerous battles. Between conflicts, players make choices that steer the non-linear story toward one of eight possible conclusions. Army composition is a key element, allowing for the recruitment of characters and assignment to various classes, including distinct options for male, female, and demi-human units. Each character's equipment can be individually controlled.
Progression is not solely tied to the main story, as players can opt to train their forces at safe locations to prepare for upcoming engagements. This approach to preparation and unit management makes the overall experience challenging.
