Romancing SaGa 3 Overview
Romancing SaGa 3 is a role playing game where players select one of eight protagonists to experience a shared narrative. The setting is defined by a recurring cosmic event called the Death Eclipse, which occurs every three centuries and is fatal to all newborn life. Historical cycles show that a single child survives each Eclipse, with one past survivor becoming a demon king and another a holy king who defeated him. The approach of the next Eclipse creates uncertainty over the fate of the coming survivor.
Gameplay involves turn based party combat and includes large scale strategic battles between armies. A central progression system allows characters to improve their weapons and spells through repeated use in battle. The story follows the chosen protagonist, such as Princess Monica, who uncovers a plot against her brother and must journey to warn him, gathering allies along the way.
