Liberty or Death Overview
Liberty or Death is a turn based strategy game set during the American Revolutionary War. Players select either the Continental Army or the British Royal Army to command, with a choice of three historical generals for each faction.
Management of the war effort is a central component, requiring the allocation of funds from supportive states. This treasury is used for military expenditures such as troop wages, naval development, and raising new regiments. Political control over territories directly influences financial strength.
Military engagements are resolved through a top down tactical system featuring period appropriate units like infantry, cavalry, artillery, and guerrilla fighters. Naval forces, including fleets and fire ships, can participate in coastal battles and may be directed to blockade enemy trade for additional revenue.
The conflict involves several autonomous factions beyond the two primary armies. These include revolutionary and loyalist militias, as well as French and Spanish forces that may join the American side following diplomatic agreements.
