Hammerlock Wrestling Overview
Hammerlock Wrestling is a professional wrestling video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Jaleco. Its visual presentation and gameplay approach are influenced by the arcade title Saturday Night Slam Masters.
Players select from a roster of twelve original characters, each with a distinct special finishing move. The action is supported by a move set of sixty techniques. Matches are presented across three simultaneous screen segments, with the central area displaying the main ring action and the top and bottom bands providing detailed views of significant maneuvers.
Four primary modes structure the competition. These include an Exhibition for up to four participants in singles or tag matches, a Champion League round-robin tournament with six competitors, a standard eight-wrestler Tournament, and a challenging Top Ranking Match where one must consecutively defeat all other eleven fighters to claim the top title.
