The Tick Overview
The Tick for the Sega Genesis blends platforming navigation with a combat system reminiscent of beat 'em up titles. Players control the blue-suited hero through urban environments, contending with standard foes and more significant boss encounters.
Gameplay shifts between two distinct visual perspectives. A traditional side-scrolling view is used for traversal, while engagements with enemies trigger a switch to a semi-isometric fighting scene. Hazards like projectile objects must be avoided throughout the levels.
A support mechanic allows the player to summon Arthur, the sidekick, to assist with clearing on-screen adversaries during difficult moments. The overall structure prioritizes direct confrontation over intricate platforming challenges.
