Sonic Classics is a compilation cartridge containing three distinct titles from the Sonic The Hedgehog series. The included games are Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.
Players access each game individually through a menu system, though only one title can be active during a play session. The gameplay mechanics and controls for each title remain identical to their original, separate releases.
A specific limitation of this compilation is that the included version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 does not support the lock-on functionality with the Sonic And Knuckles cartridge. This prevents the creation of the combined game known as Knuckles the Echidna.
