Metal Fangs Overview
Metal Fangs is a futuristic combat racing title for the Sega Genesis where victory is determined by points earned from damaging or eliminating the opposing team. Players manage a squad of drivers, switching control between them during the action as their vehicles automatically progress along the course. Direct control is limited to steering, acceleration, and braking for tactical positioning.
Before competition begins, a team must be customized with a color scheme and its members outfitted with purchased upgrades. These enhancements cover critical systems like armor, weaponry, and engine performance. The structure of a match involves multiple heats, each divided into an offensive phase with four vehicles and a defensive phase with three, making the overall contest challenging and strategic.
Success in a match unlocks a chance-based mini-game where rewards can be augmented. The experience also includes a mode for two players to battle simultaneously.
