Spot Overview
"Spot - The Video Game" is a puzzle title for the NES that incorporates a license from the 7Up brand. It supports multiplayer sessions for up to four participants, with the option for any position to be controlled by a human or the computer. Each participant commands a set of pieces distinguished by a specific color.
Victory in a round is determined by two possible conditions. A player wins by being the sole remaining participant with pieces on the board. Alternatively, if the grid becomes completely occupied, the winner is the player who controls the greatest number of pieces at that moment.
Play proceeds with participants taking turns from starting positions in opposite corners. On a turn, a player may either create a new piece of their color in an adjacent empty square, or they may move an existing piece two squares away via a jump, which vacates the original square. A key mechanic involves conversion: when a piece is placed adjacent to an opponent's piece, that opponent's piece changes to the moving player's color.
