Niji no Silkroad Overview
Rainbow Silkroad is a Japanese role-playing game with a first-person view and turn-based battles. Its setting is the medieval Silk Road, where the player controls a prince who must gather seven magical rainbow fragments to overthrow a usurper named Zrool.
The prince was smuggled to Damascus as a child after Zrool killed his parents and seized the throne of Littleland. Guided by the guard Radley, the hero now embarks on a quest to reclaim his kingdom.
Character progression does not use experience points. Instead, combat increases the player's popularity, and strength is improved solely by purchasing better equipment. Since enemies provide no money, wealth is accumulated through trading goods between towns. A thirst mechanic requires the player to regularly consume water to survive.
