Ikari III - The Rescue is a top down action game where the player's objective is to recover a kidnapped child of a presidential candidate. The perspective scrolls vertically as the player advances through hostile territory.
Gameplay involves navigating through numerous enemies. While the player begins equipped only with fists, various weapons and items can be acquired during the course of the levels. This entry continues the arcade style established in the earlier Ikari Warriors series.
