Contra Force Overview
Contra Force is a Nintendo Entertainment System title featuring a special forces unit tasked with defending Neo City. The team consists of four commandos named Burns, Smith, Beans, and Iron, who oppose a terrorist organization called D.N.M.E.
Gameplay involves progressing through five distinct missions. These stages alternate between side-scrolling and overhead perspectives, requiring players to manage a challenging array of combat scenarios. A key mechanic is the ability to switch control between the four team members during play.
Players have access to a wide variety of weapons, including rifles, rocket launchers, flamethrowers, and explosives like time bombs and land mines. The levels contain hidden secret passages to discover. The experience supports either solo play or cooperative action for two players.
