Chester Field: Ankoku Shin e no Chōsen Overview
Chester Field: Ankoku Shin e no Chōsen is an action/RPG where the player controls the knight Kein. His quest is to liberate the Kingdom of Guldred, which has fallen under the control of General Guemon's dark forces following the king's death and the abduction of the princess Karen.
The journey spans eight distinct stages, presenting a variety of environments including land, sea, and sky. Kein explores mazes and confronts numerous enemies, from knights to other dark forces. The game is considered challenging, as a single fatal mistake will end the mission.
Progression is aided by collecting items dropped by defeated foes. Jars restore health, while a currency called Metal can be spent on magic spells and equipment at shops found among the sparse population of Chesterfield Island. Kein undertakes this mission after learning of the kingdom's plight from the dying knight Gazem, who had previously failed to protect the royal family on that same island.
