Hit the Ice Overview
Hit the Ice is a hockey game that prioritizes aggressive, arcade style action over realistic simulation. The objective remains to score goals, but the experience is defined by physical play and exaggerated moves, including a powerful shot that can knock the goalie into the net.
Matches feature three players per side and focus heavily on checking, creating a fast-paced environment. For solo or competitive play, exhibition and tournament options are available, while two players can also cooperate against computer controlled teams.
Platform specific variations exist; the TurboGrafx 16 version supports four player matches. The Game Boy release includes a distinct shot race mode, which challenges a single player to score a set number of goals as quickly as possible.
