George Foreman's KO Boxing Overview
George Foreman's KO Boxing is a boxing simulation for the Game Boy where the player controls the heavyweight champion through a series of matches. The objective is to win a championship belt by defeating opponents across a maximum of three rounds per fight.
Matches are viewed from a third-person perspective behind the boxer. Movement is limited to sidestepping left and right to evade attacks, while defensive and offensive options include blocking and throwing punches. Different types of punches, such as jabs and crosses, are executed with specific button inputs.
A key mechanic involves building up a powerful superpunch by successfully landing hits and avoiding damage from the opponent. Fighter stamina is represented by an energy meter that depletes when hit and partially refills between rounds or after a knockdown. The match ends if a boxer is knocked down four times total or three times within one round.
When knocked down, players must rapidly press both punch buttons to attempt a stand-up. Progress in the single-player campaign is saved via a password system, as this version lacks the two-player mode found on other platforms.
