Final Fantasy Legend III Overview
Final Fantasy Legend III is a Game Boy role-playing game centered on a temporal crisis. A catastrophic flood simultaneously devastates cities across the past, present, and future, and a party of four characters must journey through these eras to assemble a vessel called the Talon to confront the source of the disaster. The narrative's time travel mechanic creates interdependencies between actions taken in different periods.
Character development diverges from earlier series entries. Players select from human and mutant classes, and can further customize their party by attaching items obtained in battle to transform members into monsters or robots, which augments their capabilities. The traditional experience point system is absent, replaced by a method where characters permanently learn specific magic types from chosen stones. These changes to mutation and magic acquisition represent significant mechanical shifts for the series.
