Cliffhanger Overview
Cliffhanger adapts a 1993 film starring Sylvester Stallone into a side scrolling action game. The player controls Gabe Walker, a mountain rescue specialist who responds to a fake distress call from a crashed plane, which is actually a front for terrorists transporting stolen money.
Gameplay involves navigating environments where the protagonist can run, jump, and use basic attacks like punches and kicks. These actions can be performed in mid air. Environmental traversal includes specific actions such as moving across a rope bridge suspended between cliffs.
Obstacles are not limited to human adversaries. The mountain setting itself presents challenging hazards, including aggressive wildlife like wolves and birds, as well as environmental dangers such as falling snow and rocks.
