Adventure Island Overview
Adventure Island is a side scrolling action game set in the South Pacific. The player controls Master Higgins, whose peaceful life is disrupted when an Evil Witch Doctor kidnaps Tina. His journey to rescue her forms the game's objective.
Gameplay involves navigating from left to right while managing a steadily depleting hunger meter. Collecting food items found throughout the levels is necessary to replenish this meter and avoid starvation. Power ups, including throwing axes and fireballs, are discovered inside giant eggs to aid in combat.
One notable power up is a skateboard, which grants a significant speed increase but is lost upon taking damage. Without its protection, any hit results in immediate loss of a life. The adventure culminates in confrontations with boss enemies, leading to a final encounter with the Evil Witch Doctor himself.
