Lucky Luke Overview
Lucky Luke for the Game Boy Color is a side scrolling action game where players control the titular cowboy. His mission is to recapture a group of escaped outlaws, including Jesse James and the Dalton Brothers, across a dozen stages.
The gameplay involves navigating diverse environments like towns, prairies, and an Indian village. Luke can walk, jump, climb, and duck, while also collecting items such as dynamite to uncover secrets and specific objects like a bone or red cloth to bypass obstacles. Combat is handled with a six shot revolver that can fire in straight or diagonal lines; different enemy types, from bandits to prisoners, require a varying number of hits to defeat.
Level design mixes standard platforming with scrolling style sequences, such as chasing a train or rowing through rapids. Most stages conclude with a boss encounter, culminating in a final battle against all four Dalton brothers. A bonus stage offers an extra life for shooting all bottles.
