Snood Overview
Snood for the Game Boy Advance is a handheld adaptation of a shareware puzzle game, sharing core mechanics with titles like Puzzle Bobble. The objective involves clearing a screen filled with colored creatures called Snoods by firing matching colors from a cannon. Groups of three or more identical adjacent Snoods are eliminated, and any pieces left unsupported afterward drop and are also cleared.
Several single-player modes are included. The challenging Puzzle mode provides 24 unique pre-arranged layouts that demand specific solutions. Time Attack! introduces a distinct pressure, as the play field automatically descends at regular intervals unless the player triggers a chain of falling Snoods to pause it. Classic and Journey modes carry over from the computer original, with the former offering five difficulty settings and starting configurations of two to six rows.
This version also features a competitive link cable mode. Here, players compete to clear their own fields, with successful eliminations filling a meter. Once full, this meter adds an extra row of Snoods to the opponent's screen. The game's presentation received a graphical overhaul for the portable system, and its mechanics are adjusted for the lower screen resolution.
