Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure is an action game covering the initial Dragon Ball story, where Goku searches for the Dragon Balls. The primary mode involves side-scrolling platform levels filled with combat against numerous enemies and significant bosses from the early series.
Gameplay alternates between these brawling stages and dedicated one-on-one fighting sequences, which include special duels and tournament matches. These versus battles employ a more traditional fighting game format, though with a simplified control scheme. Goku's basic arsenal consists of punches, kicks, and his extending staff.
