Virus Overview
Virus is a shooter where players operate a spaceship against an alien infestation. The setting involves Earth being overrun by extraterrestrials who are actively propagating a lethal pathogen across the planet's surface.
Gameplay is presented from a remote three dimensional perspective, featuring terrain rendered in a patchwork style with protruding trees and simulated gravity. Piloting the craft requires managing its altitude, orientation, and thrust to achieve appropriate velocity. A scanner is available to detect alien positions.
The objective is to eliminate the threat quickly, as the player's performance is measured by how much land remains uninfected when a level concludes. This creates a challenging element of time pressure alongside the flight mechanics.
