Gameplay retains the real-time, point-and-click systems of the prior title, including AI-controlled companions and combat. While exploration remains broad with numerous locations, items, and characters, progression is more structured, requiring specific tasks to unlock new areas. The narrative is advanced through many scripted events, making the overall experience more linear and extensive.
The central objective involves correcting a great imbalance on Serpent Isle by understanding the philosophies of its original inhabitants.
