Triplane Turmoil is a World War I aerial combat title where players pilot period biplanes and triplanes. It supports both single player and local multiplayer through a split screen mode.
Players can choose to represent the air forces of England, Germany, Finland, or Japan. The core activities involve engaging enemy aircraft in dogfights and conducting ground attacks with bombs. Success in these missions is recognized with in game awards like medals, ribbons, and promotions.
The game originally began as shareware but its final version 1.02 is now available as freeware. Players have the option to work cooperatively with others or pursue objectives independently, with the overarching goal being to inflict maximum damage on opposing forces while protecting one's own.
